Senseo HD7810 Coffee Maker Review

p35722b.jpg In our home I am the only one who drinks coffee so instead of using a coffee maker I have been drinking instant coffee almost every morning for over 2 years. Yes, I know instant coffee is blech but I’ve kind of gotten used to it. ;)
Recently I discovered the Senseo Single Serve Coffeemaker through some other work at home moms and I thought it would be the perfect solution to my coffee-making dilemma of making too much coffee at one time. The Senseo coffee machine makes a single serving of gourmet coffee easily anytime you want it.

Once I cleaned the Senseo machine, put in a coffee pod (actually it looks like a tea bag/pad thingy) I had delicious rich coffee in under 1 minute with just a click of a button! Since I like mild coffee, I was able to get 2 small cups of coffee from 1 pod. However, this is not suggested in the instructions that come with the Senseo.

Overall, I’m very impressed with the Senseo Coffee Machine and the flavorful coffee pods. It works perfectly for me since I’m the only one in our home that drinks coffee. I think it would make a great gift for someone who lives alone or for the lone coffee drinker in the family like myself. The only issue I originally had was the cost of the coffee pods and the fact that you can only use the Senseo brand of coffee pods. I assumed I wouldn’t be able to find them in my area. However, yesterday at my local grocery store I found that the Senseo coffee pod bag of 18 pods were only $4.50 which gives me 18 days worth of yummy gourmet style coffee. Sure, it’s a little more expensive than coffee made in other coffee makers but it’s worth it for the convenience and taste.senseo_banner160x160.jpg

If you are interested in possibly receiving your very own Senseo kit + a bag of coffee pods (valued at over $75) for free click here to take a survey to see if you qualify.

If you have already been fortunate enough to try out the Senseo tell me what you thought about it. How do you think it compares to regular coffee machines?

Epson PictureMate Dash Printer:Instant Photos For Moms

pm260_216x144.jpgI’m the Mother who takes photographs of her children everyday. Rarely does a day go by that I don’t take photos with my digital camera. Printing photos goes hand in hand with taking photos, and up until now I have relied on my local super center’s online 1 hour photo service to print my favorite photos primarily because every photo printer I have ever bought produced bad quality photos. That is, until I received the Epson PictureMate Dash.

The Epson PictureMate Dash is the first affordable personal printing lab for your home. The Epson PictureMate is not only compact but it’s portable too. Imagine being able to take this little printer with you to family gathering’s and being able to print everyone’s favorite photo right away. And, if you are a Mom who scrapbooks then this printer is perfect for you! I can guarantee that you will fall in love with it!

Setting up the Epson PictureMate Dash printer was quick and easy. You have the optionepprin1.jpg to print from a memory card, camera, or your computer. I chose to use my camera’s memory card since it was the simplest option. Once I put my memory card into the printer I was able to edit and crop my photos with ease. There was even an option for borders as well as an option to decorate your photos with festive designs. Printing my 4×6 photos took about 37 seconds which is the fastest print time I have ever seen!
Many people are worried about actual photo quality when it comes to printing photos from their home printer. With the PictureMate, you don’t have to worry!. These photos look just as good or better than professional photo services I have used in the past, and the coloring is vibrant. I’m actually very impressed with my results! Additionally, these prints resist fading for up to 96 years in a frame and up to 200 years in album.

At only $99 the PictureMate Dash is a great buy and a perfect Christmas gift for the parent or grandparent who loves taking and printing photos almost instantly. You will be able to print affordable ( about 25.3 cents per photo) 4×6 photos anytime, anywhere.

ESRB.org Review: Video Game Ratings For Parents

wiiparentalcontrols_13-copy.gifMost of us have kids that like video games. Really, is there a child left that doesn’t enjoy games? My 6 year old is a video game fanatic along with his Daddy, and they play all sorts of games.

Before renting or buying our son a new game, I thoroughly look at the title and the rating in deciding what is appropriate for our 6 year old. However, I do realize there are some parents out there that are busy or don’t know what the ratings fully mean. This is where ESRB.org comes in. ESRB aims to help parents make informed decisions when buying video games. Along with the ESRB ratings and content descriptions being on the package of every video game, they are also on the website.

If you plan on buying your child a video game this upcoming holiday season, make sure you visit ESRB.org before going out and buying a new video game for your child! Check it out online before you buy! ESRB.org has also been especially helpful to me in finding new age-appropriate games for my son that I may not have otherwise seen in stores!

Happy video game shopping this holiday season…

Name Your Tune nyt.ca

cdon.jpgBoth of our boys are music lovers but the younger one is absolutely obsessed with music and when we get the chance to listen to new music he gets very excited. Doesn’t everyone? :)
We received a Name Your Tune CD in the mail a few days ago and were super excited to try it out. I think I was more excited about it than the boys were since I knew ahead of time that their names would be said in the lyrics of each song. We were not disappointed!

Name Your Tune is a CD full of songs personalized with your child’s name. Each song will say your child’s name several times. I was surprised to hear both of our son’s names pronounced correctly seeing as their names aren’t the most common of names and I kind of expected a blunder but the songs sounded perfect! There are over 1500 names so unless your child’s name is very unique then your in luck!

When the boys heard their names in the songs their eyes lit up and they burst out laughing! Overall, our experience was fun and now our 3 year old keeps asking to listen to his name again. I’m going to take this cd on our next car trip. The more distractions the better, right? :)

Additionally, the songs included on the Name Your Tune CD are:

  1. Hello, How Are You?
  2. If You’re Happy And You Know It
  3. Old MacDonald
  4. Oh How I Want to Go
  5. Wheels on the Bus
  6. Boom Boom, Ain’t It Great To Be YOU!
  7. Down By The Park
  8. The More We Get Together
  9. Head and Shoulders
  10. There are Seven Days
  11. Rainbow Song
  12. ABC Medley
  13. I Don’t Want To Live On The Moon
  14. Instrumental Lullaby

We give this CD 4 thumbs up because it makes a child feel special and few things are more important!

DaysAgo Digital Day Counter Review

uses_baby.jpgNormally when I put left overs in the fridge we rarely ever eat them mainly because I don’t know when I put the leftovers in the fridge and I don’t know how long the leftovers are good for so my time as well as the food has been wasted!

I recently came across a new product called the DaysAgo digital day counter that removes the guesswork of knowing how many days ago you opened something or put left overs away. I think this is a great idea and it certainly will work for me.

The DaysAgo digital counters can be attached to your refrigerator or food containers such as baby food, formula, salsa, leftovers, and other items. These counters easily affix to surfaces via magnet or suction depending on which kind you purchase. They are also very simple to use.
In addition to being used for food, these digital counters can also be used for tracking medications, plant care, filters, and really whatever you want to track. I read somewhere that partners were even using it for tracking when was the last time they had sex. For additional usage ideas, go here

Overall, I give this product a thumbs up! It’s very useful for anyone especially for moms!

You can purchase a pack of two counters(in lime, charcoal, tangerine, & blueberry) for around $10-$12(USA) and $11-$15 (CAN). To order yours go to HowManyDaysAgo.com
