Avatar DVD Review: A Definite Must-See Family Movie!

Being one of the most anticipated movies of the year I had to see Avatar as soon as it came out on DVD.  At first I wasn’t sure I’d like Avatar but I really wanted to see it because everyone was raving about it…and now I know why! Avatar, by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment was released onto DVD back in April but I’m just now getting the chance to post the movie review for Mom Reviews.

Avatar is a science-fiction love story/epic anti-corporate tale set in the future on a remarkably beautiful and exotic planet far away from Earth called Pandora.

The Great Mouse Detective:Mystery In The Mist Edition DVD Review

Great Mouse Detective DVD movie still image

Disney’s latest release, The Great Mouse Detective:Mystery in the Mist Edition, was originally released in theaters back in 1986. Since I was a kid at the time I should have remembered this movie but somehow I don’t. Also, the movie is based on a book series called Basil Of Baker Street which sadly I also do not recall.

Fantastic Mr. Fox DVD Review

The stop-action animated film Fantastic Mr. Fox made its way on to Blu Ray and DVD two days ago. Prior to receiving the screener DVD for review we really hadn’t heard much about it nor have we read the books by Roald Dahl that the movie is based upon.

Fantastic Mr. Fox from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment centers around the sneaky Mr. Fox (voiced perfectly by George Clooney) and his eccentric family. At the beginning of the movie Mr. Fox, in the middle of mid-life crisis, decides to buy a beautiful treehouse next to 3 of the biggest farmers against his lawyer’s advice. Before long he goes back to his old ways of stealing chickens from the Boggis farm. Soon Mr. Fox’s thievery affects every forest animal around and they all have to move underground to get away from the farmers who are plotting to kill them all. Throughout the movie the animals say cuss for actual cuss words and it is beyond hilarious! For example, they say “What the cuss?” instead of real profanities which confirms the quirkiness and pure fun of this movie. In the end the Fantastic Mr. Fox along with his forest friends and oh so adorable son predictably save the day!

Set in 1920′s New Orleans The Princess And The Frog is an enchanting story filled with love, magic, and dreams just like all the other Disney princess movies. When Tiana kisses the frog she unexpectedly turns into a frog herself,
