Preserve: The Eco-Friendly Toothbrush

preserve_toothbrush.jpgGoing green can be as easy as switching your regular toothbrush for the new Preserve toothbrush by Recycline. We were sent the Preserve toothbrush to try out as part of the Mom Central blog tour. The Preserve toothbrush handle is made of recycled plastic including plastic from Stonyfields farms yogurt cups. It also comes in a re-usable travel case.

What I think is another great thing about the Recycline product is that when it comes time to replace your preserve toothbrush you can send it back to Recycline in a postage paid envelope (provided on their site) and it will be recycled to make plastic lumber.

Overall, A Mom’s Review recommends the Preserve toothbrush because it is helping our Earth and because it is comparable to many dentist recommended toothbrushes on the market. We really like ours! It’s a very easy way to start going green!

Where to buy: The Preserve toothbrush can be found at Target for only $2.04.  Right now you can visit the Recycline website for a $1 off coupon on the purchase of 2 Preserve or Preserve Jr. toothbrushes.

Schick Quattro Razor for Women Review

schick.jpgI normally purchase the cheapest razors when I’m out shopping. For instance, the Persona brand is well known in our family as the cheap go-to razor. Personally, I think Persona works well for frugal people with easy to remove hair.

However, recently a representative from Schick contacted us to try out the Schick Quattro razors for women made with the sophisticated features of the Schick razor for men. The Schick Quattro razor has 4 blades with ultra-thin aloe & duo vitamin strips attached that works so well you can skip a day or two of shaving – FOR REAL.

I have to admit that I’ve really taken a liking to these high performance razors, and I’m not so sure I can go back to my cheap-o razor ever again.

Overall, A Moms Review recommends the Schick Quatro for busy Moms on the go who don’t have time to shave every day. The Schick Quatro is a good high quality razor that won’t break your budget. One razor with 4 blades and a holder is around $8.00 which should normally last you around 1 month+.

Johnson’s Bedtime Toddler Easy Grip Soap Bar

For the most part, we use body wash and bubbles for our boys bath time routine. It’ss-sudzing-bar.jpg quick, easy, and we have no issues with soap flipping out of their hands. In comes the Johnson’s easy grip toddler sudzing bar and now we are using soap! It’s a miracle! ;) Well, not really a miracle but a great soap invention! I sure wish I had known about easy grip bars before now!

The specific soap that we were sent to review was the Johnson’s bedtime easy-grip toddler sudzing soap bar! So far, we are really enjoying this product. The soap has NaturalCalm which is a patent pending essence blend that has been tested and proven to have relaxing properties. If you want to get your child in the mood for bed time then this one way to do it! Johnson & Johnson has also offered up a 3 step bedtime routine that I have agreed to share here.

Three Step Bedtime Routine

* For babies it’s bath, massage and quiet time but toddlers are a different story so consider tweaking the three step routine by making it a bit more interesting:
o Bath: let toddlers try and bathe themselves
o Lotion: massages may be out but let little hands apply lotion to their legs and arms
o Quiet time: take your toddler’s personality and choose activities that are right for them
+ For the more relaxed toddler try reading, singing songs, review of day’s activities, reviewing what was great about the day
+ Feistier toddlers might need something more engaging, so why not try letting them read to you, allow them to perform a song, talk about what’s exciting about tomorrow when they wake up, play some quiet games (like patty cake or board game), allow them to put their favorite stuffed animals to bed.

Overall, we enjoy the soap for it’s design, smell and calming effects. A Mom’s Review definitely recommends the Johnson & Johnson bedtime soap bar for toddlers. Stay tuned for our review of the bedtime body wash!
Price: 3 bars for a suggested retail price of $3.49
