Toy Story Animated Voice-Activated Talking Mr. Potato Head Review
My 6 year old son is a huge toy story fan. Our 6 year old didn’t become obsessed until Toy Story 3 came out and since that time he has collected lots of the toys from the movies. Luckily his older brother had some toys from Toy Story 1 and 2 to help start his collection. Recently this new to us Playskool Toy Story 3 Mr.Potato Head made its way into our home.
Last week we came across the Toy Story Animated Talking Mr. Potato Head from Thinkway/Playskool Toys in Target and my son just had to have it. It was originally supposed to be a Christmas present but we were given 2 Target gift cards for participating in research for his Eosinophilic disorder so by default the cards went to him and we came home with yet another Mr. Potato Head.
Once we got the package open, the first thing we noticed was that this Mr. Potato Head looks almost identical to the movie version. His eyes and mouth are realistic looking. He comes with 2 sets of eyes and 2 mouths with one set being the angry eyes and mouth from the Toy Story movie which is really cool, and one of the reasons our son coveted this toy so badly.
When you turn on Mr. Potato Head he says all kinds of phrases and if you clap or yell loudly all of his parts fall off of his body. Kids will have a ton of fun with this toy because it is voice-activated which will entertain them for hours. When we first got Mr. Potato Head my son and I sat and talked to Mr. Potato Head for a looong time! While it appears crazy (for an adult) to talk to a toy for any amount of time, we had a BLAST!
Overall, our 6 year old son is thrilled with his purchase and has played with it everyday since he bought it. He is now asking for a more realistic looking Mrs. Potato Head. Are you reading Thinkway and Playskool?
I’m thrilled with the purchase because it is a quality toy that will last for a long time. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity. The only cons I see to this toy are the lack of butt storage space and I also wish the feet were removable. As far as price, it was far more expensive than your regular Mr. Potato Head at $49.95 . However, many stores online sell it for around $60. I’d be much happier if the price had been in the $30 to $35 range.
Where To Buy: You can buy this toy in Target, at the Disney Store, ToysRUS, or online at Amazon. Right now the best deal is in Target stores if there are any left or HERE online at Amazon where you also get FREE SHIPPING!
Disclosure Policy: We bought this toy with our own money for entertainment purposes
