2009 Holiday Gift Picks: For Kids Who Love Gaming

Video games are a considerable part of our family fun time. Here are our favorite games for kids and families this holiday season!

Band Hero - Super Bundle PS3 only $149.99 on Amazon - This entertainment-filled kit includes the Band Hero game featuring popular songs from Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 & more that almost everyone knows plus a guitar, drums, and microphone! Watching your kids rock out is worth every penny!

Squeeballs Party Wii New low price of $19.99 - Includes 11 action-packed games like Feeding Frenzy, Cooking, and Crazy Lanes featuring the ultra-cute Squeeball characters. You can throw them, dice them up, turn them into food, bowl with them, paint with them and so much more! Will provide hours of fun for the entire family!

LittleBigPlanet PS3 $50 - If there was ever a game that I really wanted to play more than my children, Little Big Planet is it! If your kids like creating things then this is a must-have game. Kids can invent, create and design their own game levels & scenarios then share their creations with people from all around the world on the Playstation network. The possibilities are endless with this game.  We’ve only played the trial version and were blown away by how awesome this game is.  The really cool part is that your kids are learning and they don’t even know it! It’s definitely on my 8 year old’s wish list! Great for kids of all ages.

Gamefly Membership - Can’t figure out what game to get your kids, grandkids, niece, or nephew? Gamefly memberships start at just $15.95 a month and kids can rent as many games as they want and keep them for as long as they want. How cool is that?

World of Zoo Wii $28.99 - In World of Zoo, kids can create their animals with the animal creator, customize and care for the animals in their zoo, as well as play tons of mini games! Experience and learn about 90+ animal species!

Disclosure: *We received Squeeballs Party and Band Hero as a sample for review consideration. Since we liked the games so well we decided to include them in our gift guide.  The remaining items are either items we’ve seen and liked, or actually own. Some of the items above include links to Amazon with which we are an affiliate. Please See our full disclosure policy here.

We have been looking into Gamefly. Unless it is a family game that can be played over and over again, we think it is just better to test drive than to purchase. If the game excites the household, then purchasing may be under consideration :)

I have a 6 yr old that wants a PSP and a DSi. As we all know too well money is VERY tight. SO, I cannot get him neither one, but his Aunt is getting him the PSP and she had mentioned to me last night that she wanted to give it to her brother and I so we can give it to my son, as though we bought it for him. I told her NO WAY! I would NEVER take the GLORY away from anyone. I will try and get him the DSi for Valentine’s Day… Happy Holidays to you all!!!! May we all be BLESSED!
