Revolutionary Road On DVD Today: DVD Review

Rarely is there a movie that leaves me feeling as conflicted and moved as Revolutionary Road has. And, if you didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters there’s no need to worry as it comes out on DVD & Blu-ray today!

Leonardo Dicaprio (Frank) teams up once again with Kate Winslet (April) in Revolutionary Road as a young married couple in 1950s America. After a few years into marriage and two children later, the couple realizes that they want to feel alive again and want more out of life so April gets this crazy idea to put their house up for sale and move to Paris. All of these plans are thwarted when April realizes she is pregnant once again. In the end April goes to great lengths to get out of her unhappiness.

Overall, this movie is very deserving of the awards it was nominated for and even though quite disturbing, it was still one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. If you want a thought-provoking movie that deals with realism, marriage, and mental illness then this movie is for you.
