The Fragrance Collection Glade Soy Candles

Having a home that smells good is important to me so I’m always trying out new candles, tart warmers, incense and the like. So, when Glade asked me to try out their new Fragrance Collection Glade Soy Candles and reed diffusers I eagerly said yes. After all, I’ve always liked the Glade air fresheners so I thought I’d give these a try. As part of the new Fragrance collection the soy candles and reed diffusers are available in 6 premium scents. I received the Earthly Awakening soy candle and the reed diffuser in Currants & Acai.

The Earthly Awakening soy candle had a pleasant but very light scent. I found that the scent was not very noticeable unlike most of my other candles. However, I prefer strongly scented candles so I’m not sure I would buy these again. I think I will try another scent (probably the mcintosh apple) and see how well it does. If you like lightly scented candles and you want to go with a more environmentally friendly candle then I do recommend you give these a try.

As for the Currants & Acai reed diffuser, I really like the scent and I have had it in my bedroom for a few days now. It’s also not very strong but is great to freshen up a small bedroom or bathroom.

Buy It: The Fragrance Collection is available at your local super center stores such as Wal-Mart, etc.

I have tried the McIntosh apple and it is really good and strong. The Orange Vanilla is gross, makes me feel sick to my stomach. It smells good when not lit but once it is burning it emits some nasty scent of YUCK! If you like richly scented candles then the apple is a good bet.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll definitely try the Apple one.

I tried the Apple Glade Soy.

Not impressed. Too expensive $7.99 for a dinky jar. I smelled the Orange at the store. Gross smelling is right on. Reminded me of baby aspirin.

For what I spent $7.99 I could have bought a whole chicken dinner for my family. Oh well.

I bought the cotton reed diffuser on rebate at CVS. It barely smells like anything unless you have it stuck under your nose, and I have it in a small bathroom. Can’t even notice it. Not worth wasting your money on for sure. I do like the apple candle though, although it’s not really super strong smelling either in my opinion.

I agree. The reed difusser does not have a lot of smell to it so if you are looking for something strong smelling then I do not suggest you purchase these items. I’d go with something from the Yankee candle company or the walmart brand candles if you are looking for something cheaper.

Smelled ok. The reed diffusers scent was faint. Be careful not to get the reed oil on wood as it stains. I found out the hard way when a few drops got on my nightstand.

    Too expensive, save your money.

Actually, I think the scent not being strong may also have something to do with the soy base. I say this only because I bought a pumpkin spice soy-based candle from Yankee Candle and that, too, did NOT have a very strong scent to it while burning. I’d have to get in very close proximity to the candle in order to really detect the scent. The fragrance in their regular pumpkin candles permeate the entire house.

I bought the Glade Soy-based ‘Sheer White Cotton’ candle, and it has a very pleasant, somewhat distinct smell, of clean laundry, almost floral even.

The only downside being, once I blow the three wicks out, it smells terrible, like bitter/burnt cloth, and completely overrides the candle’s original scent. I usually LOVE the smell of candles being blown out, but ‘Sheer White Cotton’ does not blow out well, my friends.

I was wondering if anyone else was having trouble with the wick? I cant keep mine to keep lit.. I got a white and a green one.. So far the smell is ok but they wont stay lit.

I was just sitting here looking ( and smelling ) my glade Sheer White Cotton candle.
It does not want to stay lite…it is barely burning. I have bought these before in both the 2oz and the large 3 wick size and they seemed to burn right. The last time I bought the 3 wick ones though they wouldn’t stay lite and I wasted half the candle. I thought maybe I just got one with a bad wick, but now I wonder. I just bought 15 ( yes 15 ) of these 2oz candles on sale and I am afraid that none of them will burn properly. What’s up with this anyways????
