How To Lose Friends & Alienate People is a romantic comedy based on Toby Young’s memoir. The movie is about a British celebrity writer, Sydney Young, played by Simon Pegg. Sydney makes a living by making fun of celebrities at his magazine. Soon after Young is offered a job at a high powered magazine in New York and becomes a huge success.
Overall, I’m not a huge fan of Simon Pegg and I found myself immensely disliking his character, Sydney, in the beginning of the movie. However, as the movie went on Sydney grew on me and I actually started laughing and rooting for Sydney! The movie also stars Kirsten Dunst, Jeff Bridges, and Megan Fox. If you like quirky romantic comedies then this is for you.
