When my two boys and I sat down to watch this movie I expected a cute feel good movie with great animation but what we got was so much more! As the movie begins, we learn that Wall-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth Class) is a lonely robot who lives in the distant bleak future where there are no humans and no other robots functioning. I must interrupt my synopsis to add that it is sort of a scary depiction of the future - one that may confuse, scare, or even cause your kids to question so parents should be prepared for a conversation after the movie ends. So, anyway, everyday Wall-E cleans and collects trash but after a few minutes into the movie, we see that Wall-E is longing for a connection or even love. Then one day Eve (Extra-Terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator) shows up and she’s on a mission to look for life on Earth. After finding a small plant and giving it to EVE to show his appreciation for her, Wall-E & Eve go on an outer space adventure. And, what a fun, comedic,  and eye-opening adventure it turns out to be! This is where the true journey begins!

With a very adorable rusty old robot, a pet cockroach, lazy humans, and sleek new wacky robots in the very imaginative future you can’t go wrong with Wall-E!! One of the most memorable parts of the movie for our two boys was when Wall-E was sorting through the junk he found and he couldn’t place where a spork (half spoon/half fork) fit in. It is scenes like these that really make Wall-E stand out! If you watch one kids movie this year Wall-E should be your pick! Wall-E is funny, sweet, and fascinating! It would make a great family fun night movie and any child (or adult) would be thrilled to receive this as a gift this holiday season!
