Madagascar 2: Escape To Africa
Last Friday we took our 2 boys to see Madagascar 2: Escape To Africa and what fun we had! Well, all except the seemingly never-ending trailers. I can guarantee you we saw at least 11 trailers for new kids movies which in my opinion is a bit much for kids to sit through. After all that advertising we should have gotten in free!
Now on to the movie…
If your kids already adore Melman, Marty, Alex, and Gloria then simply put they are going to enjoy the sequel. In Escape To Africa, the gang plus those crazy penguins accidentally crash in Africa, Alex’s birthplace, on their way back to New York. At this point the gang explores Africa and all that it offers. Alex gets to meet his real family, Gloria meets another man hippo, Melman becomes a witch Doctor and of course thinks he’s dying, and Marty begins to believe he’s not unique after meeting all the wild zebras. At this point it gets a bit Lion King-ish but much funnier as you would expect from those 4 zany zoo animals. There are lots of funny jokes and even more adult humor this time around. However, it’s not nearly as funny as the first movie. In the end all that really matters is that our kids laughed hysterically! Overall, A Mom’s Review recommends Madagascar 2:Escape To Africa for a fun family outing this week!
Madagascar 2 is currently playing in most theaters & IMAX nationwide. Ticket prices vary.
At the official Madagascar 2 site there are lots of games, activities, and coloring pages for the kids to continue the fun at home!

We just came back from seeing this movie. It was cute and funny, but not nearly as entertaining as the first one. Still, not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
We were supposed to watch this last night, but the kids were acting TOO crazy.
