Pathology Dvd Review: Halloween Movie Pick!
Pathology now on DVD is a very slick, twisted movie without morals. It is pleasantly disturbing to watch, if gory and pervasive horror movies with extreme violence and sexual fetishes are your thing. But be warned when I say disturbing, that is putting it lightly. For example, people have sex at a murder scene. Corpses are traumatized in every way imaginable and there are several horrific murders. If you have a weak stomach and/or adverse to blood/guts/autopsies, extreme sexual content then this movie may not be for you. I have become desensitized to the gore and violence of today’s horror films so I enjoyed it in a sick kind of way. The whole atmosphere of the movie is very creepy, dark, violent, and morbid. Pathology presents some plausible terrifying subject matter about ethics, human nature, and the power of influence, money, drugs, and sex. The realization that this movie plot could happen in reality is disturbing, however, at the same time makes for some sick entertainment.
Overall pathology is one of the better psychological horror movies that I have seen in quite some time. The actors, plot, makeup, and setting of the movie were flawless. The movie reminds me of Nip Tuck or Grey’s Anatomy but way kinkier, gory and much more extreme. In fact, this movie is so well done I think it deserves multiple movie awards. However, I don’t think it will because the movie is simply too violent and extreme. Why this movie never got a big theatrical release is beyond me? In my opinion, it is ten-fold better than any of the recently released horror movies. For example, all the Saw movies pale in comparison to Pathology. If you are in the mood for some sick and twisted horror for Halloween this movie will not disappoint. This movie is NOT for kids or anyone under 17.Â
