Sarah Landon And The Paranormal Hour Review
Sony Pictures presents Sarah Landon And The Paranormal Hour new on DVD just in time for the Halloween movie marathons that we all know and love. In this movie, Sarah goes to visit her dead friend’s grandmother then gets caught up in a paranormal mystery with two hometown brothers, Matt and David. This mystery leads them on a hunt to find out what will happen between midnight and 1 am on David’s 21st birthday.
Since this was a Nancy Drew -ish/ ABC Family-ish TV type movie and was only rated PG I let my 7 1/2 year old son watch it along with me. Boy, did I make a mistake! Surprisingly, it actually scared him and I had to explain a few new issues to him such as Drunk Driving, Spirits, and other similar issues. Overall, this movie is for pre-teens and teens but I would not recommend it to younger kids due to some very creepy scenes and spooky music. What I think is good about this film, even if the movie as a whole is mediocre for an adult, is that it was written, directed, and even acted by the same family. Make sure and check it out for your older kids for some family-friendly Halloween entertainment! * Bonus feature includes Frida’s Psychic reading game.
