Fringe TV Show Review

Every Fall I look for a new TV show to watch along with my current favorites. This year nothing really stood out until I saw a preview for Fringe. Now, I’m not normally into shows on Fox except American Idol and sometimes I’ll watch House. However, I knew immediately that I had to watch and see what Fringe was all about since I like Lost, and well, because my other science fiction kicks -The Dead Zone & The 4400 series ended this past year.

So, what is Fringe anyway?

Fringe centers around Olivia, a female FBI agent played by the very pretty Anna Torv, a cute genius with a sense of humor - Peter Bishop played by Joshua Jackson, his crazy scientist father played by John Noble, and of course fringe science. What more could you ask for?

The pilot episode began with a mysterious midair flight disaster where all that was left was melted bodies. Throughout the twist and turns in the Fringe pilot episode, I was definitely entertained, and I was glued to my TV screen wanting more. The cast of characters are relatively unknown - at least to me except Joshua Jackson from Dawson’s Creek whom I adore. However, the cast has great chemistry together so I really look forward to seeing what happens next.

Fringe airs on Fox every Tuesday night at 9pm EST and was created by Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams.
I’m really hoping that this one doesn’t get cancelled because I’m already hooked after viewing episode 2 last night. What are your thoughts on Fringe? Love it, hate it, or have never heard of it?

I’ve certainly found it gripping. I like sci-fi but still require things to meet certain plausibility standards…this show does ok.

I think I’ll keep going with it as long as it has a good plotline. They’ll just have to know when to wrap things up and let go…that’s what I’m afraid of for the future. But for the now, I’m enjoying it!

    i love this show!!!
great addition to my tv schedule…problem is that it ran at the same time as the biggest loser, which is my other favorite show…

I saw the first show and am hooked. I love Josh Jackson too, so that helps. I haven’t watched the newest one yet but look forward to it!

Oh ouch! Writing on this show is deplorable and my suspension of disbelief only has so much grace.
Acting is horrible and the cast is a misfire. They try too hard to be intense - and it doesn’t flow.
I set up a season pass on my TIVO because the promos looked decent. First show I watched - then deleted the other one that recorded and canceled the season pass.
Sorry - but I think this is a stinker.

Worst sci-fi series ever. Acting is awful. Nothing plausible about the plot. Crazy doctor seems to be intimately familiar with every single phenomenon.

Fringe seems to be a is good TV series. It a bit similar to Torchwood and X Files. I just hope that it will not be spoiled.
