Del Monte Harvest Selections: Quick & Tasty Lunches!

As a busy mom on the go who home schools and works from a home office, I rarely get the chance to sit down and eat a nutritious lunch. While my boys eat lunch, I’m usually grading papers or catching up on emails. The new Del Monte Harvest Selections has made it easy for me to get a yummy lunch filled with 2 servings of vegetables ready in just under 3 minutes.

At first I was skeptical of the Harvest Selections. I thought I was going to bite into rubbery microwaved meat and tasteless vegetables. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. All 6 varieties of the Del Monte Harvest Selections taste delicious! My favorites were the Chicken Cacciatore and the Italian Style Pasta Bake. Since these meals are shelf-stable there’s more salt than you’d expect. However, the upside is that these are quick meals, don’t need to be frozen, and great to take along with you! If paired with extra water to drink, I don’t see the salt being a problem at all.

Overall, A Mom’s Review recommends the Del Monte Harvest Selections meals because they have a better flavor than most frozen/boxed meals that I’ve tried plus these meals are filled with 2 servings of vegetables. Your kids may like these too!

Where To Buy: local grocery store. Prices range from $1.50 up to a pricey $2.99 per meal.

I wholeheartedly agree with Mom. All the meals are delicious except for one. The chicken cacciatore is more than delicious, it’s heavenly.

I have to wholeheartedly agree! My granddaughter and I are vegetarians and the Rice and Beans and Ravioli are absolutely delicious. I too run a home business and homeschool my son and cooking is far from my favorite thing to do and I won’t do it during the day. These are a snap. 2 minutes total for the yummy red beans and rice I just finished!

Agreed - these are by far my favorite work lunches. MUCH better than any of the other single-serving much things I’ve tried, including the frozen ones. I need all the help I can get to eat enough veggies. I also appreciate not having to fight my co-workers for ‘fridge space.
