AirDrives Earphones For Kids Review & Contest

airdriveskids.jpgThese days most kids have an iPod, mp3 player, or other portable device with earphones. As parents, it is our responsibility to protect our kids ears and to teach them the importance of safety when using earphones.

Recently AirDrives offered to send us a sample pair of kids earphones to review. The kids AirDrives are different from regular earphones in that they are gently placed on the outside of the ear. These earphones are designed to bring music to your life rather than blocking everything out with loud music. The volume is also set to max at a lower volume so as not to allow for hearing damage. Overall, A Moms Review recommends AirDrives earphones for kids even though they are way overpriced.

Would you like to win a set of your very own AirDrives for kids? Those sound really cool. The differences are adults have a longer cord and acoustic housing.

Looking over the page now. I noticed the adult ones say “durable and water resistant” and the kids side only says “durable”. So, I’m guessing the kid’s version is not water resistant. The adult has acoustic hearing listed and the kid’s side doesn’t. The kid’s cord is shorter, but I think that’s just a normal standard kind of thing since kid’s are generally shorter too.

I love that they go over the ear. My boys don’t like the kind that go IN your ear and we actually had a hard time finding them headphones to use for their MP3 players and gameboys. Everything pokes you in the ear these days it seems.

    2 differences adult vs kids:

Kids cable length is shorter 3.5 ft and adult is 4 ft. Since adults are usually taller, I am guessing that is why the added length.
Also no acoustic housing for kids but for adults. These sound really great!

  5. Susan Says:

The adult AirDrives are water resistant and have a magnesium acoustic housing. They also have a longer cord than the kids model.

  6. Betsy Says:

The adult has Acoustic Housing and the cable length is longer.

  7. Mama Zen Says:

The adult version has a longer cable and acoustic housing.

  8. Mindy Says:

The kids version doesn’t seem to be water resistant, nor does it have acoustic housing like the adult version. Also, the cord is shorter on the kids version.

  9. Cindi Says:

Hello, There isn’t a whole lot of difference between the kids and adults styles. The adult ones have acoustic housing and the cable is just a bit longer. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks,Cindi

The adults have the longer cable length (albeit it is just a tad longer). It also has the acoustic housing. What a great giveaway!

I think the adult AirDrives resist water and have a magnesium acoustic housing. The adult AirDrives also have a longer cord than the kids AirDrives.

These would be great for those times when I am driving and the kids are reading. I could still hear their requests but listen to my music.

  17. Gina Stratos Says:

The adult AirDrives have a longer cable length (1.2m 4 ft vs 1.1 m 3.5 ft) and magnesium acoustic housing.

I own a pair of airdrives and they work as advertised. I also use a product called lobie from mylobie.com. Same basic features but lobies only cost $12, come in lots of colors including clear, some with glitter and you can use your ipod earbuds with them or any other earbud.
