Does the question “What’s for dinner?” make you cringe? If you’re like me, mealtime creeps up pretty fast. I’m often stuck standing in front of an open freezer or scouring the cupboards for something I can get to the table quick. The result? Too much take out and a big bite out of my budget.
Emealsforyou.com offers an affordable solution: customized web-based meal planning. You can save time and money by building a menu from their hundreds of recipes and meal plan options. All you have to do is print your custom-made shopping list, make a trip to the grocery store and you’ll have everything you need to bring delicious and nutritious meals to the table, hassle-free.
I had the chance to give their service a try recently. Here’s what I liked best:
* They offer a wide variety of recipes. With recipe collections like “Vegetarian Entrees,” “Watching Our Waists” and “Easy Recipes I Can Cook” (just to name a few), you are certain to find something to tempt your family’s taste buds. There’s even a nifty recipe finder you can use to search for recipes by key ingredient and/or recipe collection.
* The recipes are scalable! This is my favorite feature. Just select the number you are serving from 1 to 12 and the recipe is automatically adjusted.
* They offer a slew of meal plans, from quick dinners to special occasions, or you can create your own.
* They provide a Pantry Planner to help you keep your kitchen stocked with the basics. Items can be added right to your shopping list.
* Their kitchen notes section provides invaluable information and helpful tips from conversions (how many tablespoons are in a cup?) to definitions (how do you blanch food?) and the must-haves of kitchen gear.
I would give Emealsforyou.com four thumbs up. How could they earn five thumbs up?
* They could allow me to rate the recipes and record comments about them. With so many great recipes to choose from, I may not remember that the family loved that casserole or that I need to add ten more minutes to the cook time with my oven.
* They could allow me to add my own recipes. We always have my famous fajitas on game night. It’d be great if the recipe were available in my recipe box and ready to add to my shopping list.

Well done review. It sounds like a great service. Probably not perfect for me in this country, but a good service all the same.

I’m excited about the shopping list. I hate coming home from the grocery store only to realize I forgot an ingredient. And, of course, I’m always too tired to go back!
