The Dangerous Book For Boys Review
A couple weeks ago I received The Dangerous Book For Boys by Conn and Hal Iggulden. And, today I am reviewing this book as part of the Mother-talk blogging book tour which I’m so happy to be a part of.
This cleverly designed book contains so much good information for boys ages 6 and up. The book actually says ages 8 and up but my 6 year old son adores it! Funny thing is, I adore it too and would’ve loved to have a copy of a book like this as a child. So, I think it would be a hit with girls too even though it’s called The Dangerous Book For Boys.
This book is filled with topics like the solar system, cloud formations, making paper airplanes, making crystals(which I found fascinating and my 6 year will too when we get a chance to do this project) and so much more that is useful to boys.
This book will be perfect for summertime explorations around our home, and for when our son says he doesn’t have anything to do. The Dangerous Book for Boys is the kind of book you want to hold on to and pass along to the next generation.
Our family gives it a big thumbs up

[...] May 15: Tertia adores the book (”This book made me smile. It is the sweetest, warmest, most absolutely Serious and Important thing I’ve seen for a while.”), and starts quite a kerfluffle in the comments section over the mini-rant at the end of her post. (And who doesn’t love a good kerfluffle?) Amanda at A Moms Review reports that her six-year-old son is already loving the book and says, “This book will be perfect for summertime explorations around our home, and for when our son says he doesn’t have anything to do. The Dangerous Book for Boys is the kind of book you want to hold on to and pass along to the next generation.” [...]
Another great book for boys that my son and I found is Bart King’s The Big Book of Boy Stuff. Tons of fun activities, experiments, jokes, info on gross stuff like barfing and burping. My son has about worn his copy out!

Hello,
Please consider mentioning boysread.org on your blog. I’m the founder of a new, innovative literacy program called Boys Read. Boys Read’s mission is to transform boys into lifelong readers. We’re an organization of parents, educators, librarians, mentors, authors, and booksellers. A core objective of Boys Read is to establish Reading Tribes. Tribes are informal reading circles for pleasure and non-deterministic learning. They’re very similar to book clubs. Tribes are a great opportunity to bond with boys. A Tribe Leader acts as a mentor and facilitator for the Tribe. Parents, teachers, librarians, booksellers, coaches, and other community outreach programs and services organize Tribes. Our website features many extraordinary authors who have published numerous compelling and gripping novels that boys love. For more information about Boys Read, visit our website at boysread.org.
